| Angels turn up in the strangest places! After spending time in Michigan with his mother following her recent heart surgery, Angelrage guitarist Raphael travelled cross-country, visiting locations in Wisconsin, Iowa, South Dakota, and Colorado before returning home to Los Angeles where he attended the 56th Annual Emmy Awards with award-winning sound editor Karen Vassar, who took home an Emmy for her work on the HBO movie And Starring Pancho Villa as Himself, starring Antonio Banderras. This is the second award she has received in recognition of her work on the film: she also received a Golden Reel Award earlier this year. Raphael says that he found South Dakota very inspiring and managed to write a couple of new songs out in the badlands. He is currently recording new demos. The songs for the new album are nearly finished, and it looks as though Seven Witches guitarist Jack Frost, who has taken an interest in the band, may be producing the CD. The band is excited about the new material and Raphael assures us it will blow away any preconceptions you may have. Celebrities at the Emmys included William Shatner, Bob Newhart, Sharon Stone, and Penn and Teller, as well as many of today's hottest TV stars. The ceremony was broadcast on E! Entertainment Saturday, September 18th, and featured Vassar recieving the prestigious award. See more photos HERE |
