After a year shrouded in secrecy and rumor, Angelrage has finally unveiled their new lineup, featuring the talents of a new bassist who has assumed the calling of URIEL. Founder and guitarist Raphael explains, "The original bassist for Angelrage, my friend and brother Joe Budek, has come to a point in his life where he is no longer able to continue his involvment with the band. This has been a long time coming and it was a very natural progression. I am very happy for him as he enters into a new life, a new marriage, and he will always be a part of Angelrage. That being said, after a long and frustrating search, we have been blessed
The newest Archangel of Metal was found after months of placing ads and hearing auditions involving hundreds of musicians from across the United States.
The band is currently rehearsing for their first shows of the new millenium, starting with several of LA's hottest venues.
In addition to 5 string bass attack, his duties include harmony vocals and, according to Raphael, leading the band's personal minsitry outreach, talking with people at shows and via the internet.
"I believe he was truly heavensent," says the guitarist. "He has become an integral part of this band and I am sure that fans will agree when they see what he can do."
An inside source close to the band has confirmed that Angelrage is getting set for a busy Summer: look for a new 4 song EP of all new material, new band photos, and even more controversy as the group unveils their new music and stageshow. Stay tuned to Angelrage.com for concert dates!
Also watch for guitarist Raphael at the 57th Annual Emmy Awards, escorting his long time girlfriend Karen Vassar, who is nominated for her work on The Life and Death of Peter Sellers. Vassar took home the prestigious award last year for her contributions to And Starring Pancho Villa As Himself.
