| An appearance in Wisconsin by the recently revamped Angelrage had to be cancelled after protests and death threats forced the band to pull out of the event. The protesters burned Angelrage posters, t-shirts, and copies of the band's recent CD, Dysangellion, denouncing the band's "dangerous agenda" and "demonic origins." Fans of the band will recall similar protests plagued the band after their 2003 hit Fight the Devil, when a group of right-wing Christian fanatics failed to stop the song from being aired on a Michigan radio station, as well as a website run by a pastor who claimed the band "sows seeds of evil." Lead singer Azrael explained, "After the murder of (ex-Pantera guitarist) Dimebag Darrell, we take these threats very seriously. The incident is under investigation and we hope to see everyone very soon." |
